The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe Ever

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup salted butter ((softened to room temperature))
  2. 1 cup granulated sugar
  3. 1 cup light brown sugar ((packed))
  4. 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  5. 2 large eggs
  6. 3 cups all-purpose flour
  7. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  8. ½ teaspoon baking powder
  9. 1 teaspoon fine sea salt*
  10. 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips ((12 oz))

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Line three baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream the butter, light brown sugar and granulated sugar together on medium-high speed for 1 minute.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat on medium-high speed for an additional 1 minute. The mixture should be light and fluffy.
  5. Add the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed until just incorporated.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Roll 2-3 Tablespoons (depending on how large you like your cookies) of dough at a time into balls and place them evenly spaced on your prepared cookie sheets. (Note: with 2 Tablespoon cookie scoop, the cookie dough balls weigh 40-45 grams each).
  8. Bake in preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are just barely starting to turn brown.
  9. Let them sit on the baking pan for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack to continue cooling.
